The Life & Paintings of Thomas Prytherch (1864-1926)

Thomas Prytherch was a professional artist based in Wroxeter, nr.Shrewsbury. He exhibited at the Royal Academy in London, Liverpool's The Walker Gallery, etc. Prytherch's patrons were many and included Lord Barnard of Raby Estates (Shropshire and Co. Durham) and Lord Bradford of Weston Park, where several of his paintings remain. Prytherch excelled as a landscape artist and illustrator for magazines and educational books. Although the artist is little known today, many of his works are in private collections. His descendant, Marjorie Downward shares her fascinating story of many years research illustrated with family anecdotes, humour and a powerpoint presentation of Thomas Prytherch's paintings and family photographs going back in time as far as the 1880's.

The 2011 & 2012 lecture tours are in the process of being prepared.
